Amazon offtakes renewables to 6.5 GW

With the addition of 26 new utility-scale wind and solar projects around the world, Amazon claims it has become the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy.

Amazon's offtake deals for renewables currently cover 6.5 GW of production potential for clean energy worldwide, including a total of 127 wind and solar projects.

Amazon said its pledge to be net zero carbon by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement, is advanced by the new batch of PPAs.
