CS Energy Turns Sod On 216MW New York Solar
CS Energy, in partnership with Goldman Sachs Renewable Power Group (GSRP), has begun construction of 216MW (DC) of utility-scale solar projects across New York state.
The projects are expected to achieve commercial operations by the end of 2021, making them the first operational utility-scale solar projects in upstate New York.
The company is developing the solar projects, developed in close coordination with the local community and regional stakeholders, following contracts awarded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
There are eight in total, all 27MW (DC) apiece.
The Darby and Branscomb projects are based in Capital Region, Easton and the Stillwater project is based in Capital Region, in Stillwater.
The Grissom, Regan and Pattersonville project are all located in Mohawk Valley and the Janis project is located in Southern Tier, Willet, while the Puckett project is located in Southern Tier, Greene.
Stillwater Solar was originally developed by East Light Partners, acquired by GSRP and is now being constructed by CS Energy.
The portfolio will generate over 500 construction jobs and the projects represent over $160m of private investment and are expected to generate over $80m in benefits into local communities and regions, CS Energy said.
