Developer Turns Sod On 150MW Spanish PV Trio
Solar developer X-Elio has begun construction of three photovoltaic projects in Spain totalling 150MW.
The projects are located in the Spanish region of Extremadura, specifically in the municipality of Medina de las Torres, Badajoz.
X-Elio will invest €100m in the projects, called Los Llanos 1, 2 and 3, each with an installed capacity of 50MW.
The company has more than 250MW under construction in the country, over 650MW through power purchase agreements and has a project pipeline of more than 2000MW at an advanced stage of development.
Company CEO Lluis Noguera said: "Throughout this extremely difficult pandemic, excellent professionals at X-Elio and at many local governments such as Extremadura, have continued to work to meet the greenhouse emission reduction targets needed to mitigate climate change.
“The beginning of work on these projects is another sign of the sustainable economic recovery that will mark the future of X-Elio in Spain and in all the countries in which we operate."
