Vestas wins 97MW Oz prize
Vestas has secured a 97MW turbine order for the Hawkesdale wind farm in the Australian state of Victoria from Naturgy's Global Power Generation subsidiary.
The contract includes the supply and installation of 23 V136-4.2MW machines as well as a 5000 service agreement for a 15-year active production control.
In the third quarter of 2021, delivery is expected, with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.
Hawkesdale is set to power approximately 35,000 homes during its construction and generate about 145 jobs.
The new contract follows the recent announcement by Vestas of two new Victorian wind parks to be built with Global Power Generation for the second phase of the Berrybank and the Ryan Corner wind farms.
Together the three projects will export to the Australian grid a total of 425MW of renewable energy.
Clive Turton, President of Vestas Asia Pacific, said We are proud that customers from all over the world are turning to Vestas for our leading technology, market experience, broad service solutions and, ultimately the best return on their wind project investment."
