Construction Begins in 2024

Located on a 182-hectare site near Te Aroha, North Island, the solar park will begin construction this year. When fully operational by the end of 2026, its capacity will expand to 202MW, supplying sustainable energy to thousands of homes and businesses.

Powering Jobs & Economy 

The project’s two-year construction phase will generate around 350 jobs at peak, offering significant employment opportunities for local workers. Once completed, it will also create permanent roles, contributing to New Zealand’s growing green energy sector.

Key Partners & Financial Backing 

The Tauhei Solar Project is backed by a consortium of leading banks, including ANZ, ASB, BNZ, and MUFG Bank. In a significant move, Meridian Energy has secured a 10-year agreement to purchase 100% of the solar park’s output, ensuring its contribution to the national grid.

Sustainability at its Core 

Beyond energy generation, the project will actively support environmental conservation:

Innova Secures Major Sale Of UK Solar PV Project – A Game-Changer For Renewable Energy

Innova Sells Ducklington Solar Array to Schroders Greencoat – Powering the UK’s Green Future! 

Innova has successfully completed the sale of the 27.5MWp Ducklington Solar Array in Oxfordshire to Schroders Greencoat, marking another milestone in their shared commitment to accelerating the UK’s clean energy transition. 

A Major Step Toward Net Zero

The Ducklington Solar project secured planning consent in March 2022 and is set to begin construction in Q1 2025, with operations targeted for early 2026. Once energized, the solar array is expected to save approximately 11,600 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, making a significant impact in the fight against climate change. 

Adding to its credentials, the project was awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) in Allocation Round 6 (AR6) in September 2024, alongside five other Innova solar projects—further reinforcing its long-term value in the UK’s renewable energy sector. 

A Growing Green Partnership

This marks Innova’s fifth solar project to be sold to Schroders Greencoat, bringing their total investment partnership to over 110MWp. The partnership has previously seen the successful sale of: ✔️ Stokeford Solar Park (28.5MWp) – Sold in November 2024
✔️ Carn Nicholas (10MWp)
✔️ Bicker Fen Solar Park (22.6MWp)
✔️ Elms Farm Solar Park (27.8MWp)

Located in the Ta’anach region, this solar farm not only signifies a leap towards a greener future but also underlines Teralight’s leadership in clean energy development.

Strategic Partnership in Ta’anach 1 Project

Teralight holds a 51% stake in the Ta’anach 1 solar project, showcasing its commitment and investment in sustainable energy. The remaining 49% is owned by Migdal Group, one of Israel’s largest financial institutions. This partnership highlights the growing collaboration between innovative developers and prominent investors to accelerate the country’s energy transition.

Expanding Horizons: Ta’anach 2 and Beyond

Building on the success of Ta’anach 1, Teralight is advancing its next venture, the Ta’anach 2 project. This project will boast a generation capacity of 104MW, coupled with an energy storage facility featuring a capacity of approximately 440MWh. Fully owned by Teralight, the Ta’anach 2 solar farm is projected to connect to the national grid by the latter half of 2026.

Together, the Ta’anach 1 and Ta’anach 2 projects represent a combined installed capacity of over 250MW. This accounts for around 5.2% of Israel’s renewable energy capacity and 1.2% of the country’s total electricity supply, underscoring the projects’ pivotal role in reshaping the energy landscape of Israel.

A Word from Teralight CEO Rani Lifshitz

Rani Lifshitz, CEO of Teralight, expressed pride in the company’s accomplishments, stating:

“The commercial operation of the Ta’anach 1 project marks a significant milestone for the company, solidifying Teralight’s role as a key player in Israel’s green electricity production and supply sector. The entire project advances Israel’s efforts to increase the use of clean, locally produced solar energy.”

He further elaborated on Teralight’s ambitious vision:

“Teralight is currently developing and constructing solar and storage projects with a combined capacity of approximately 400MW and storage capabilities of about 750MWh. These projects are expected to connect to the grid gradually over the next three years, further cementing Teralight’s leadership in renewable energy in Israel.”

The Maglan Project: A Renewable Energy Giant

In addition to the Ta’anach projects, Teralight is spearheading the development of the Maglan solar project, an even more ambitious endeavor. The Maglan project will feature a 340MW solar facility along with a state-of-the-art energy storage system boasting 1110MWh of capacity. Developed in collaboration with 13 communities in the Jordan Valley, the project exemplifies how renewable energy initiatives can foster community partnerships.

The Maglan project is slated for grid connection by 2027, adding significant capacity to Israel’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Governor Phil Murphy highlighted the importance of this milestone, stating:

“With this milestone achievement in solar energy, we are building a strong foundation for renewable energy while combating the imminent threat of climate change and propelling our state forward on 100% clean electricity.

By expanding solar programs and resources for homes and businesses, we are taking a whole-of-government approach to making solar energy more affordable and accessible than ever before.”

Under his leadership, New Jersey has allocated $156 million from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to fund solar energy projects delivering 175MW of clean energy to low-income households. These initiatives ensure that renewable energy benefits are equitably distributed across communities.

To further enhance solar development, the state launched a “Landfill to Solar” resource page, designed to assist local governments and solar developers in repurposing landfills for solar energy projects. This initiative maximizes land use efficiency while supporting clean energy growth.

🌿 Strategic Projects Across Portugal

The company’s new projects, located in Paiao, Feira, and Trancoso, are part of an ambitious plan to build a 100MW solar portfolio in Portugal. These developments will add to RPower’s already impressive portfolio of nearly 50MW from eight solar farms in Terena, Serta, Mosteiros, Tremes, Alhais, Elvas, Macao, and Arada.

⚡ Near-Term Goals for 2025

By Q1 2025, RPower aims to commission an additional 10MW of capacity in Lagos and Portimao, further solidifying its leadership in the Portuguese market.

According to Przemek Pięta, co-founder and CEO of RPower:
